The website was built manually using only the standard windows text editor and Adobe Photoshop for the images. This was my first experience with web design and implementation, and the knowledge used came from a few books I read and later from the web when I had specific issues or questions. As time goes on I have and will continue to improve its appearance, functionality, and content. I didn't have to trade site design and coding for advertising space, which I personally find terribly offensive, and although some of the fancy graphics and effects are nice in their place I don't plan on doing it here (other than, perhaps, rolling in different images on the home page if the viewer remains on it for some time). I hope you find your visit pleasing,
I've tried to make the flow through the pages on this website as easy and intuitive as possible, taking into account those "features" of other websites I've visited that tend to leave me with a complete lack of desire to ever return to them. In most cases I offer a suggestion on the screen on how to leave the page you're on, and in those cases where I have yet to do this, your browser's "Back" button will take you back. The "large" versions of images you see when you click on one of the thumbnail images are opened in a new window and you should close those windows to continue, as is suggested on those pages. Once you close the "large image" window it will not appear in the browser's history and your "Back" button will not force you through them again when you try to return to an earlier page. The shopping cart page is designed so that it doesn't get into the browser history, and if you use the back and/or forward arrows I've provided separately on the pages themselves you will find that as long as you don't "check out" from the shopping cart it will return you to the page upon which you pressed the "Shopping Cart" button, and if you press your browser's "Back" button after leaving the shopping cart your browser will go back as if you were never in the shopping cart. Due to limitations imposed by current web browsers I was unable to completely maintain this through the checkout process so once you go into checkout your browser's "Back" key will no longer work as you would hope- if you "check out" your purchase you will be returned to the site's home page, and if you use your browser's "Back" button from there you'll end up in checkout pages that you cannot go "back" from. If you came here from another site (such as a search site) and you want to return your browser's back key has a pulldown list (a little arrow or triangle pointing down) you can click on and this will allow you to choose to go back to that site by clicking it in the pulldown list. If you mistakenly use your browser's "Back" on a page with one of my back or forward arrows and end up on a page that breaks or that is not part of the "normal" flow of pages, your browser's "Forward" arrow will allow you to return to the page where the back/forward arrows I provide will return you to the normal flow of pages on the site. I have placed my "back" arrows in the upper left of the screen near the browser's "back" button to help ensure they aren't missed, but please note that my "forward" arrows generally will appear near the bottom of the page when they are present in the checkout process. If you are checking out and on a page that you expect you should be able to continue/go forward from and there isn't a "continue" or some other button on the page for the purpose you may have to scroll down to find that forward arrow.
