Instructions for use:
First, so you can restore your current background if you wish to do so,
Right click on your desktop and select "Properties" from the popup.
Select the "Desktop:" tab.
Make a note of the background you are presently using, which is the highlighted one in the list, and close the window.

Method 1:
Right click the file and select "Set as background" (Internet Explorer), "Set as Wallpaper" (Netscape/Mozilla), or "Use Image on Desktop" (Opera)
Method 2:
Right click the file and "Save picture as" or "Save as" to your primary drive (generally C:\)
Right click on your desktop and select "Properties" from the popup.
Select the "Desktop:" tab.
Select the "Browse" button.
Navigate to the root of your "C" drive (C:\) using the pulldown on the top of the popup if it is not already there.
Double-click on the file you downloaded.
Click "Apply" and then click "OK"

The background loads faster as a .bmp file but it would be too large to provide it in that form here. "Adepts" can feel free to load the image into an image processor (Microsoft Paint works ok for this) and save it as a bmp file for faster loading.

This was a handheld shot from the desert south of Las Vegas that suffered from "camera shake" so that the focus was insufficiently sharp for it to be of use as a print. I manipulated the colors so that the overall image would look nice on a screen and would not interfere with the appearance of the desktop icons placed on it- I don't like backgrounds that seem to absorb the icons and make them hard to find, and this background won't do that.
